Description

Think Tank Fund for Wider Europe, a program of the Open Society Initiate for Europe (OSIFE), announces the Think Tank Young Professional Development Program for MA and PhD graduates who graduated with a PhD, LLM or MA degree in the social sciences and humanities from highquality universities in the OECD countries in the past two years.

With this initiative, TTF for Wider Europe aims at supporting up to fifteen ‘returnees’ per year to assume posts in think tanks interested in attracting young staff. With these activities, they hope to help young and talented people enter the region’s think tanks, provide additional capacity building with talented returnees getting engaged in policy-relevant research, analysis and advocacy under the guidance of experienced staff, and assist think tanks in recruiting new talent into their ranks.

Eligibility

Eligible candidates must fulfill all of the following four requirements:

1. Have graduated in the past two years with a PhD, LLM or MA degree in the social sciences and humanities from universities in the OECD countries;
2. Be a citizen or permanent resident of the following countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, or Ukraine;
3. Applicants should be between 23 and 35 years of age at the time of application;
4. Applicants must be fluent in written and spoken English and the working language of the host organization;
5. Applicants must be ready to return to their home country and reside there during the internship period.

Remuneration

• The award cannot exceed USD 7,000  per paid position;
• The TTF for Wider Europe will cover a gross compensation/salary for the paid position (at the level of the hosting organization’s pay for junior research staff), and other reasonable expenses that are essential for carrying out the work engagement;
• The award will not cover any administrative and mentorship costs incurred by the hosting think tank as these costs will be the contribution of the hosting organization to the program.

1. Motivation/cover letter;
2. Brief action plan;
3. Draft budget in USD;
4. Curriculum Vitae (CV);
5. Support letter from a hosting organization with endorsement of the Executive Director or President.
