In memory of Dr. Teodora Toleva, who carried out extensive research for her dissertation “The Influence of Austria-Hungary on the Formation of the Albanian Nation 1896 to 1908″ in the Austrian  State Archives, awards the Institute for the Danube Region and Central Europe (IDM)

Goals of the scholarships:

  • Promotion of young scientists who deal with the history of the Habsburg monarchy;
  • Research stay at the Austrian State Archives Vienna;
  • Exchange with other fellows and experts on topics, methods, sources, and results;
  • Promoting the mobility of young scientists;
  • Publication of the results.

Eligibility

  • Max. 4 young scientists from the faculties of history and political science who are researching the history of the Habsburg monarchy;
  • Candidates should have at least a Bachelor’s degree;
  • Good German language skills;
  • The scholarships are paid every six months, and a report to the above-mentioned experts is to be submitted for the continuation.

Scholarship

  • 6-month research stay at the Austrian State Archive, Vienna, beginning on 1 March 2018 (1200 euros per month);
  • Financial support for the following 6 months (300 euros per month);
  • 6-month research stay in the Austrian State Archive, Vienna, beginning on 1 March 2019 (1200 euros per month);
  • Financial support for the 6 closing months (300 euros per month);
  • Technical support by Mag. Thomas Just – Head of the Haus-, Hof und Staatsarchivs, Prof. Dr. med. Leopold Auer and Prof. dr.Lorenz Mikoletzky during the research stays;
  • Possibility of free accommodation in Vienna (for a maximum of 1 person).
