Description
In Beyond the EU the open community of analysts reflects on the processes that are going on in European but non-EU countries and reacts to daily events there. Their primary focus lies on countries outside of the EU, such as Post-Soviet and Balkan countries, as these regions constantly create new challenges to the regional and global order. Although those countries are geographically European, they are still left beyond Europe, understood as an area of shared values and intellectual traditions. However, experience from other post-communist countries, which have already become members of the EU, is also highly appreciated since it can offer invaluable lessons for the countries beyond the EU. Their goal is to establish a solid community of experts, analysts and contributors who are thinking Europe outside the Union. Over the past year, Beyond the EU has developed a network of readers in over 130 countries and contributors in more than 20 countries.
Recently, Beyond the EU has launched the monthly Best Article Competition. Best articles in social sciences ( including international relations, culture, economics, political sciences, gender studies, international law and human rights, sociology and so forth) will be published and winners will receive certificates and opportunity to become regular contributors. There are four separate regional competitions:
- Best Article on Post-Soviet states;
- Best Article on Central and Eastern Europe;
- Best Article on South-Eastern Europe;
- Best Article on Turkey.
