Description

John S. Knight Journalism is selecting 20 fellows from around the world and bring them together for 10 months at Stanford University, USA, to  identify and articulate a specific journalism challenge they want to explore in hopes of identifying potential solutions they will continue to work on beyond their time during the fellowship.

Eligibility

John S. Knight Journalism is not looking for college graduates, they are focused only on experienced journalists. To be a Fellow you dont need to have college degree, however you need to have:

  • 5 years of journalistic experience for international applicants, 7 years for US applicants;

Applications will be considered from:

  • Journalists employed by a news organization or journalism freelancers;
  • Journalism entrepreneurs and innovators;
  • Journalism business and management executives.

Fellowship

The Fellowship consists of:

  • US $65,000 (paid in 10 monthly installments, September through June);
  • US $4,000 (may be used for laptops, digital cameras, recorders, software, books, etc…);
  • US $3,000 for Housing supplement (total for the year for single or married fellows);
  • US $4,300 for Health insurance supplement for the year);
  • US $3,000 to $6,000 to fellows living outside the United States, depending on family size(travel grant);
