Communications Assistant at the European Union National Institutes for Culture

Description

European Union National Institutes for Culture is a recognised leader in cultural cooperation founded in 2006. EUNIC has 32 members from 27 countries that are based in over 150 countries with more than 2,000 branches and thousands of local partners. The members work in the arts, language, youth, education, science, intercultural dialogue and development sectors.

EUNIC Global office in Brussels coordinates the work of approximately 90 EUNIC clusters around the world and is currently recruiting a Communications Assistant for a six-month period, starting from 27 October 2014 until April 2015.

The main responsibilities of the Communications Assistant are:

  • Update EUNIC website;
  • Assist management and maintenance of the EUNIC websites and social media profiles;
  • Assist in production of the EUNIC monthly newsletter ;
  • Assist in all aspects of external and internal communication;
  • Contribute to production of promotional material ;
  • Proof-reading of web, press and informational material;
  • Take a lead in developing a database of experts and journalists;
  • Assist in maintaining Poliglotti4.eu website and social media profiles.

Eligibility

In order to be eligible for the internship you must have:

  • Advanced studies or university degree in Communications, Journalism, Languages, Language Policy, Translation, Multilingual Communication or similar;
  • Native speaker level of English and working knowledge of French (additional languages are a plus);
  • Keen interest in Intercultural Dialogue, Multilingualism and its role in the European and national context;
  • Excellent writing, editing, communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with MAC OS;
  • Knowledge of and interest in Social Media and Social Media Marketing.

An Internship Placement Agreement/Convention de stage is compulsory for this internship.

Salary

The intern will receive a monthly stipend of €650.
