Cambridge Econometrics (CE) is a leading independent economics consultancy, and listed by the Financial Times as a top Management Consultancy. Their analysis and insights are used by clients around the world to inform policy decisions about pressing challenges faced by society. The CE Group employs over 50 people at their companies in Cambridge (UK), Brussels, Budapest and Northampton (US). They provide economic and policy research in areas that they are interested in and that make a difference to people. Their clients include national and local governments, international organisations including the European Commission and European Parliament, as well as a range of non-governmental organisations and charities with policy concerns.
They are seeking a collaborative and resourceful economist with strong quantitative research skills to join their Society Team in Brussels, developing and delivering consultancy projects to help clients meet their policy and strategy needs.

Your responsibilities will include:
• conducting economic and policy analysis in the fields of: inequality & poverty; jobs & skills; health & social care; regional analysis
• interpreting the client’s needs and designing analysis to meet those needs
• undertaking quantitative and qualitative research to inform policy and strategic decisionmakers
• drafting reports and other deliverables to effectively communicate the key messages from the analysis
• drafting tenders for new business opportunities
• supporting business development in the Society Team by contributing to internal research projects and marketing activities

ELIGIBILITY

Cambridge Econometrics (CE) are looking for people who have:
• a degree in economics or related field (with a strong statistics / data analysis component)
• a keen interest in making evidence-based analysis relevant to the needs of policy makers
• a demonstrable interest in the policy areas that form Cambridge Econometrics’ core business, particularly in social policy
• 0- 2 years’ experience for entry level and 5+ years’ experience for senior economist of conducting quantitative research and/or delivering economic consultancy projects would be advantageous
• a proactive, resourceful and creative approach to problem-solving and designing research to meet the client’s needs
• strong IT skills – an aptitude for using programming languages (to handle large datasets and for computation) would be advantageous
• familiarity with socioeconomic data (such as national accounts and other official statistics) would be an advantage
• a capacity for both team-working and for working autonomously
• good communication and presentation skills, including the ability to identify and express  clearly key messages in language appropriate to policy clients
• fluency in written and spoken English
Candidates will be required to have the right to work in the EU by the start of their employment.

The Entry-level salary package is €39,000-49,000; the Senior salary package is €49,000-58,000.
