Description
The European Commission is launching the “European Health Insurance Card – Storyboard Competition”. This is a contest calling for a storyboard and accompanying synopsis on the European Health Insurance Card related to travel and summer holidays. The European Health Insurance Card is a free card that gives insured access to medically necessary, publically-provided healthcare during a temporary stay in any of the 28 EU countries, Iceland, Lichtenstein, Norway and Switzerland, under the same conditions and at the same cost as people insured in that country.
European Commission is looking for a story and images reflecting the idea behind the European Health Insurance Card and convey at least one of the messages:
- Expect the unexpected;
- European Health Insurance Card is for free;
- Awareness of European Health Insurance Card among doctors and medical facilities.
Eligibility
The competition is open to citizens aged 18 and over from any EU Member State as well as Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein and Switzerland. If under the age of 18, a parent or a legal guardian must sign the entry form. Participants cannot be legal entities.
Prizes
The winner will be awarded EUR 1,500, whilst their concept will be developed, adapted and produced into a video, which will be used to promote the European Health Insurance Card. Second and third place do not go home empty-handed either, with prizes of EUR 1,000 and EUR 500 being awarded respectively.
Application
The competition will be open until the 17th of August 2014, Midnight CET. To submit your entry, fill in the entry form, then send it along with a copy of a valid ID document, the synopsis and the storyboard.
