The Centre for European and North Atlantic Affairs in partnership with Armed Forces Academy of General M. R. Štefánik is organizing a summer school for students with focus on challenges of global security environment. The structure of the teaching at the summer school is aimed to provide you with the basics of the security policy background, main security threats of today such as cyber terrorism, strategic defence review, extremism, conflict regions, current event in Middle East and Africa and energy security.

During the program participants will can enjoy the environment of the Armed Forces Academy in Liptovský Mikuláš, located between the beautiful High and Low Tatras and on Jun 30th we will move our summer school from Liptovský Mikuláš to Uzghorod in Ukraine.

One of the main objectives of this international summer school is the preparation of young professionals – future leaders from mentioned regions – to act in the foreign and security policy. Interactive discussions and lectures led by top speakers from various international and Slovak organizations will therefore focus on open exchange of ideas and interaction of participants from different backgrounds.

Eligibility

Open to master or doctoral level student of political science and/or international relations, or a young professional

Financial conditions

* Students from Ukraine, South Caucasus or Western Balkans: travel costs, accommodation and meals will be fully covered. Participation fee of 60€ and if visa is required the participant should pay it.a if required by yourself.
* V4 countries: accommodation and meals will be fully covered. Participation fee of 100€ and participants must cover travel costs.
* Other countries: participants must cover all expenses which amounts to 290 EUR plus travel cost.
