International Youth Academy: Is My Europe The same As Yours?

Description

The Economic Policy Institute and the Hanns Seidel Foundation are currently organizing the 5th International Youth Academy in the framework of the long-term Paving Youths’ Way student seminars series.

The seminar will focus on the topic “Is my Europe the same as yours?” The International Youth Academy seminar will take place in the period July 10-14, 2017 at Pirin Park Hotel, Sandanski (Southwestern Bulgaria).

Eligibility

Eligibility criteria for applicants from Bulgaria, Greece, and Romania:

  • to be no older than 27 years;
  • to be either in their last years of undergraduate/graduate study (bachelor/master) or to have graduated in the last 6 months;
  • to have at least a working command of English.

Benefits

The Economic Policy Institute and the Hanns Seidel Foundation cover:

  • accommodation in a double-occupancy room (with another participant);
  • 3 full meals per day and coffee breaks;
  • seminar materials;
  • excursion to the town of Melnik and Rozhen Monastery;
  • organized group transportation:
            o     Sofia – Sandanski – Sofia by minibus (for Bulgarian participants);
            o     Ruse – Sandanski – Ruse by minibus (for Romanian participants);
            o     Thessaloniki – Sandanski – Thessaloniki by minibus (for Greek participants).

Participants are personally responsible for organizing and covering their own transportation to Sofia, Ruse or Thessaloniki. Arrival date is July 10, 2017 (Monday) and departure date is July 14, 2017 (Friday).

The working language of the student academy is English.

Participants who successfully complete the training will receive a certificate.

How to apply?

The international students’ initiative aims at comparing the perceptions about the EU and the future of Europe of young people from three neighboring member states – Bulgaria, Romania, and Greece.
