Description
The European Fund for the Balkans is seeking applications from think tanks, policy-oriented CSOs and independent policy institutes from the Western Balkans to participate in the Think and Link – Regional Policy Programme 2016.
The grant awards will be available for regional projects, to the applicants whose applications best meet the requirements of this call. Issuance of this call for proposals does not constitute an award commitment on the part of the EFB, nor does it commit the EFB to pay for costs incurred in the preparation and submission of an application.
Think and Link – Regional Policy Programme seeks to foster inclusive and evidence-based policy making in the Western Balkans by initiating regional research projects, which are relevant in order to:
- Inspire analysis and case studies of important aspects of member-state building in the Western Balkans societies;
- Support comparative and evidence-based policy-making;
- Foster broad and informed public debates;
- Enhance intellectual regional co-operation, exchange of experience and networking.
Eligibility
Eligible organisations
Only registered think tanks, policy-oriented CSOs and independent policy institutes from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia are eligible to submit an application under this call. Applicants must act with partner organisations as specified hereafter.
Think tanks, policy-oriented CSOs and independent policy institutes registered in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia, are eligible as applicants’ partners.
The applicant will have at least two partner organisations. Applicant and partners will have their legal seats in at least three different countries in the Western Balkans (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia).
Eligible projects
To be eligible, the project must:
- Contribute to the objectives of the call;
- Fall within at least one thematic area of the call;
- Produce a regional policy paper;
- Organise at least three (corresponding to the number of partners) public policy events in at least three different countries in the WB.
Grant
The maximum amount of the grant is up to EUR 25,000. The grants do not require cost share, however cost share would be encouraged, if possible. Minimum percentages of EFB contribution in the total eligible costs of the project has to be 50% or more. EFB anticipates making up to approximately five grants through this call.
