University of Warwick Postgraduate Scholarships

Description

The Warwick Graduate School offers around 50 scholarships each year for outstanding students who wish to pursue a PhD via a single competition. This annual postgraduate research scholarship competition allocates the following awards:

  • Chancellor’s Scholarships
  • Chancellor’s International Scholarships
  • Wolfson Postgraduate Scholarships: three scholarships of £27,000 per annum will be available to PhD students applying for entry in Autumn 2014 in the areas of History, Literature and Languages.

Students and applicants who are eligible to apply for any of the awards listed above should apply to the postgraduate research scholarships competition and will automatically be considered for all the competitions for which they are eligible.

Eligibility

Applications are welcomed from:

  • Applicants for a full-time PhD (or MPhil/PhD) course at the University of Warwick, expecting to begin in Autumn 2014;
  • Students currently enrolled on a PhD or MPhil/PhD at the University of Warwick may apply in the first year of their registration only;
  • There are no restrictions on nationality, and applications are welcomed from all disciplines offered at the University of Warwick;
  • PhD applicants must be applying, or have already applied, for a place at the University in order to make a scholarship application. A single, combined application form is used for the application for both admission and the scholarship;
  • Applicants must have obtained or be expected to obtain at least an upper second class honours degree (or equivalent) from a recognised institution of higher education before 31 July 2014.

Scholarship

Chancellor’s Scholarships – academic fees at the Home/EU rate (provisional £3,936) and a maintenance grant in line with the UK Research Council stipend (provisional £13,863)

Chancellor’s International Scholarships – academic fees at the Overseas rate (worth up to £17,130) and a maintenance grant in line with the UK Research Council stipend (provisional £13,863)

Wolfson Postgraduate Scholarships – £27,000 per annum

Application

All new applicants for PhD admission are asked to make their scholarship application at the same time as they apply for Admission via the combined Postgraduate Admissions and Scholarship application form during the open period.
