Description

The Second International Festival of Youth Social Theatres “Energy of Theatre” will take place in Samara, Russia from 11-15 November 2013. The festival provides educational, competitive, out-of-competition and entertaining programs. It also carries out seminars, round tables, workshops, conferences and other creative forms of interaction.

The goal of the Festival is an exchange of experiences between creative and initiative youth groups and theatrical groups working in the area stated above and improving art skills and talents of the cast of youth theatres and professional skills of directors and heads of youth theaters.

Eligibility

The festival is open to amateur theatrical groups, theatre-studios, Youth professional theatres, Educational theatres, youth creative groups and theatrical teams, and individual performers who focus on the following urgent social issues: discrimination, racism, drug addiction, ecology, tolerance, HIV, abortions, mental disorders and other important issues in your country/ city/community.

The age restrictions of performers – from 16 to 35 years. However, 10 percent of the members of the theatrical group can be younger or older than this age category. The number of people in the group should NOT exceed 10 people.

In 2013 the Festival will consist of at least 8-10 theater teams from Armenia, Israel, France, Russia and other countries. They also invite all interested actors, directors, specialists from different countries – people who want to participate in educational and recreational programs and exchange experience.

Costs

The following expenses of the participants are covered by the Organizers of the Festival Committee:

  • Accommodation in hotel “Azimuth” during the time of the Festival (breakfast and dinner);
  • Educational and entertainment program during the Festival program;
  • Providing a platform for performance and necessary service of production part according to the technical requirements specified in the application from;
  • In special cases – a transfer in Samara.

Participants independently pay the following expenses:

  • round-trip to the venue of the Festival;
  • Participation fee at a rate of 3000 rubles (70 EUR) from one participant (one person) from theatrical groups and performers;
  • Participation fee at a rate of 6000 rubles (140 EUR) for participants of the Festival who don’t take part in competitive and out-of-competition programs.

There is a limited number of scholarships to cover travel expenses.

Application

Applications are open until 15 October 2013. Applications (AVAILABLE HERE) are accepted by e-mail at ushakovm@gmail.com (with the copy at ekaterina.mordvinova@gmail.com). An application form from a theatrical team (including the general part + individual applications from each participant) should be sent in ONE attachment.

Applications from theatrical groups are to be filled out according to an enclosed form (Appendix 1). Each participant of theatrical team without exception fills out an individual part (Appendix No. 2). The application has to be accompanied by video of the performance and all the necessary information on production of the performance such as posters, applets, summaries, reviews, photos and video records.

Applications from individual participants are to be filled out according to an enclosed form (Appendix No. 2). If the organization sends an individual performer to the Festival, he/shehas to fillout the General part (Appendix No. 1).
