Description

The Department of Politics and International Relations is pleased to offer two fully-funded studentships for October 2013 entry to its Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme. The studentships will pay UK/EU tuition fees for three years and include an annual stipend (worth at least £13,590 each year) and Research Training Support Grant (worth £750 each year).

Eligibility

  • Applicants must have a first-class or high upper second-class honours degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant discipline It is expected that applicants will have a relevant Masters degree or be able to show evidence that they will achieve this before October 2013
  • Candidates must meet the University’s standard English language entry requirements.
  • These studentships are only available to applicants  who are permanently resident in the UK or another EU country.

  1. Draft a research proposal that tells us what you want to research and how you intend to do it
  2. Prepare your supporting documents
  3. Submit your online application or apply by post

The closing date for receipt of applications is 31 May 2013. Applications that do not include a full research proposal and the required supporting documents will not be considered.

IMPORTANT – In the Fees and Financial Support section of the application, you must state that you wish to be considered for the “October 2013 Funded PhD Studentship in Politics (Ref. Brace)”.
