Teaching Your Native Language in Alicante, Spain

Description

The organization Libertas International is preparing some language courses in Alicante because young people and young adults have a low level of languages which difficults the access to qualified employments. It is planned to give them an opportunity to learn a new culture and new language. The course will take place in Alicante city (Spain) during 1 month from 8th April to 3rd May 2013.

The 4 selected teachers will arrive by Sunday 7th April and will be accommodated at the university residence LA FLORIDA and will live there during the whole month. Teachers will have their meals also at the university residence. Volunteers will stay in individual rooms with private bathroom.¡, wifi and sport facilities. Before departure teachers are required to make an evaluation of the evolution of the course and the interaction with the Spanish students.

Tasks

  • Teachers will teach 3 hours per day, from Monday to Friday,and the rest of the day they can spend visiting the city and preparing their classes.
  • The hosting organization is expecting you to prepare a language course that will be very interactive, dynamic, fun, that will combine both formal and non-formal education and that will make discover your culture to Spanish young people.
  • You have to follow a syllabus that we will provide you, in order to have a follow up of the learning process.
  • You will have the necessary materials to prepare your course (printer, copy machine, projector LCD, spakers…), but it is your responsibility to prepare the course and to be on time.

Profile of the candidates

Young people who are older than 18 years old, highly motivated, with university or college studies. The language that you will teach should be your native language (English, French, Russian or German language), or at least you are very fluent using it. Also it is very important if you have a previous experience teaching your language.

Conditions

The teachers will live at the university residence La Florida which is placed in Alicante city centre. Accommodation and meals are covered by the hosting organization. Meals will be at the restaurant of the residence respecting the schedules of meals.  Libertas International will cover also your travel costs (up to 200 euros), and will give you 75 euros as pocket money.
