Description.

Râmnicu Sărat is a former communist prison, presently administrated by the Institute for the Investigation of Communist Crimes and Memory of the Romanian Exile (IICCMER), well known for its extremely oppressive detainment regime. The former prison is to be turned into a Memorial of the victims of communism. Considering the history of this place, the Institute took the initiative of organizing each year a summer university. During the summer university IICCMER organizes seminars, discussions, workshops on the history of European communism, with the focus on the repressive methods. The project aims to help students acquire a better knowledge of the period 1944-1989, and thus to make them reflect upon the illegitimate and criminal nature of the communist regime in Europe.  Summer University will be focused on analyzing ways of remembering the interval 1944-1989 from a historical and biographical perspective. Participating students are invited to reflect on various ideological, social and political aspects of communism. Considering the fact that the effects of this period are still present within the Romanian society, a better knowledge of the recent past may contribute to a deeper understanding of present realities.

  1. Cum draq procurorii vor sa-l acuze de snaathj, daca nu au flagrantu? Istoria ne-a aratat ce se intampla cu procesele in care procurorii nu au decat stenograme, cu care se pot sterge in 3 litere, nefiind probe solide
