Description

Ahold is an international food retailing group based in the Netherlands. Ahold inspire their clients every day. They have more than 210,000 colleagues, 2,900 stores and a 2010 net turnover of € 29.5 billion worldwide. They are the largest retailer in The Netherlands and are one of the largest on the east coast of the United States. Within Europe they are active under the name Ahold Europe.

The Ahold Scholarship Programme was launched in 2010 and aims to support talented non-EEA students from low-wage countries and the USA applying for RSM’s International Management/CEMS, Business Information Management, Supply Chain Management and Accounting & Control programmes. Also, applying students must have a special interest in retail and preferably intend to live and work in the USA or Europe once they graduate from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) and have an outstanding academic record.

Scholarship

For the academic year 2012-2013, the Ahold Scholarship Programme offers three scholarships of € 5.000 each. Students who receive a Ahold Scholarship will be invited for a special Ahold Introduction Day and will be able to consult a Ahold executive e.g. for a summer internship or projects.

Eligibility

The scholarship programme is open to non-EEA students from low-wage countries and the USA .

Application

To apply for one of the Ahold Scholarships, non-EEA students need to:
1) Apply for RSM’s International Management/CEMS or Business Information Management or Supply Chain Management or Accounting & Control programme. For more information, please check the Admission & Application pages.
2) Have above average academic, GMAT and language test results.
3) Together with the online application upload a digital version of a motivation letter and curriculum vitae specifically written/designed in relation to the Ahold Scholarship.
4) Applicants need to be familiar with the Ahold competency sets.

The application deadline is 15 May 2012. Potential Ahold Scholarship students will be selected and shortlisted by the RSM MSc. Admissions office and presented to Ahold. Ahold will ultimately decide which students receive the scholarship. A selection interview, with Ahold’s HR department and a member of senior management, will be part of the selection process and will probably take place in September 2012.
