Aalborg University has special education system that is project oriented, so a big part of the education in Aalborg University is based on teaching the students to learn on their own and to drive projects in group. This concept of working in group and driving project is being apply across all the different types of studies (from computer science to sociology) and is started from the first year of university.
Aalborg University is consisted of three faculties, under which all research and educational activities take place. As of January 1, 2007 the Danish Building Research Institute (SBi) is also a part of Aalborg University.

AU continuously works at being at the cutting edge – regionally, nationally and internationally – in the original range of fields as well as in new like e.g. the fields of information technology and the health sciences. Considering the demands and needs of the surrounding community for continuing education, Aalborg University additionally has started to develop its programmes within the area of life-long learning.

How to apply

All international applicants who seek admission to Aalborg University must fill in the online application form and send a printed version of this by regular mail.

You can apply to Aalborg University either as a:
Guest/Exchange/Erasmus student: a foreign student wishing to study at Aalborg University for 1 or 2 semesters as an integral part of a study programme at an institution or higher education in another country.
Or as a:
Degree student: a foreign student wishing to pursue a degree from Aalborg University.

Student Scholarships and Exchanges

New students who have registered for a full-time study programme at Aalborg University but who are not nationals of an EU/EEA country will be charged tuition fee from August 2006.
The faculties of Aalborg University does, however, grant tuition waivers and scholarships to non-EU/EEA students. Students cannot apply for the scholarships but will be nominated by the faculties of Aalborg University when they apply to Aalborg University.
Please note that the deadline is 15 March (15 August when applying for the February intake).
