Czech Technical University (CTU) is one of the best universities of technology in the Czech Republic. CTU is involved in a wide range of international activities and in many organisations in the area of engineering research and engineering education. The Czech Technical University evaluates its performance in research centrally, and motivational bonuses are paid directly to researchers. In this way, the best professors and their teams can receive significant bonuses. With this strategy of advancing quality both in research and in education, at the expense of quantity, CTU constantly improves its international ranking substantially. CTU has bilateral agreements with hundreds of institutions all over the world. The largest number of bilateral agreements are with EU countries, Russia and the USA, and the number of active agreements with institutions in Asia and in South America is also now growing.
How to apply
The languages of instructions at all faculties of CTU are Czech and English. Some courses in French and German are also offered as indicated in the Prospectus for the relevant academic year.
Applications will be considered by CTU only upon receipt of this Application Form and the following documents.

– copy of secondary school transcript, general certificate of secondary education (GCE), or equivalent
– copy of any document and official transcripts of degrees/diplomas of higher education already completed
– certificate of medical fitness
– short Curriculum Vitae

Student Scholarships and Exchanges
CTU provides direct support through a small number of scholarships for foreign PhD and Masters students. This financial support is not intended for Erasmus students. The main financial support for visiting students is in the form of subsidised accommodation and canteens, very cheap public transport passes, and low tuition fees (fees are waived for students studying in Czech language and for Erasmus and Exchange students).
