Get Involved with Asia’s First Youth-led Public Policy Think Tank!

Deadline: 31 May 2014
Open to: anyone interested
Benefits: opportunity to propose a project, publish articles and papers

Description

IPAN (International Policy Analysis Network) is an independent, private, non-profit public policy organisation currently based in India. It is Asia’s first youth-led public policy think tank aimed to be the world-leading source of independent analysis, informed debate and influential ideas.

The underlying objective behind IPAN and its work is to liberate the world of public policy, make it understandable for general masses and encourage citizens (especially youth) to make effective and positive contributions to the national and global policy discourses. IPAN believes that policy solutions come more from daily lives than they can from formal, technically oriented approach.

You are welcome to contribute to this youth-led movement that IPAN aspires to unleash in different ways:

1. If you have a project proposal in mind

You should get in touch with IPAN President at ipan.president@gmail.com . There is no prescribed format for stating your proposal; mention the general proposal details (objective, methodology, expected time to be taken, probable resources needed) in your email and it will be evaluated by the Executive Committee if it can be taken as a project under IPAN. Upon preliminary acceptance, you may be asked to provide further details. Upon final clearance, the proposer shall be appointed as a Research Coordinator and may be provided with a team of Research Assistants.

2.If you wish to get involved as a Research Assistant in an on-going project

The on-going works can be seen on the website. If you wish to get involved in any of those projects in any capacity, please contact ipan.outreach@gmail.com .

3. If you wish to contribute articles/papers for IPAN and its publications

Unsolicited manuscripts are welcome, provided that they are not simultaneously submitted elsewhere. Prospective contributors are strongly encouraged to acquaint themselves with IPAN’s research documents when considering whether their submission addresses relevant subjects, themes, and issues. Please note that IPAN’s mission is to provide high quality and practical public policy analysis, rather than journalistic articles that cover particular events. Contributors often possess demonstrated expertise regarding their chosen topics.

The preferred length of manuscripts is 800-900 words, with a 1,000-word maximum for articles. Papers should be between 4000-8000 words. Any accompanying image, graph, or figure should be at least 540 pixels wide, and submitted in JPEG or PNG format.

All unsolicited contributions should be electronically submitted to ipan.outreach@gmail.com with “SUBMISSION” as the subject line. Submissions should mention author’s full name, affiliation, postal address and a declaration that it is original work of the author and violates no existing copyright. Please note that all submissions must be in English.

Application deadline is 31 May 2014.
