SURF launches delegate recruitment for the 2011-2012 SURF Exchange Program. The final deadline for applications to be submitted is 29 May 2011.URF (Stanford US-Russia Forum) is a nonprofit organization that explores policy, business, and economics through international student collaboration. Founded in 2008, SURF offers an annual 6-month exchange program for students at leading Russian and American universities. In addition to this flagship program, SURF publishes the annual SURF Journal and hosts bi-annual conferences at Stanford and in Moscow. For three years, more than 150 students from over 20 Russian and American universities have attended the program.

Now SURF is starting a new chapter in its history. The program for 2011-2012 will include three stages:

• Opening Conference in Moscow in November 2011;
• Collaborative Research Projects between December 2011 and March 2012;
• Capstone Conference at Stanford University in April 2012.

Eligibility

Students from the United States and Russia.

Application

All Prospective Applicants are to fill out US Students Application Form or Russian Students Application Form (both available at the official webpage) and submit them in both Word and PDF format to us_apply@joinsurf.com and russia_apply@joinsurf.com.

Costs

SURF will arrange all lodging, food, and event-related costs in Moscow and Stanford. However, delegates will be responsible for arranging their own travel to and from Moscow/Stanford, as well as their own visas.

The SURF Delegate application process has two parts:
• Submit a written application online (by 29 May)
• Pass interviews (face-to-face or Skype, by 30 June).

We are looking for candidates who have a strong academic track record, academic accomplishments and personal achievements. All applicants must have a strong command of English.
