Description

DLR is Germany´s national research center for aeronautics and space. Its extensive research and development work in Aeronautics, Space, Transportation and Energy is integrated into national and international cooperative ventures. ‘DLR – DAAD Research Fellowships’ is a programme implemented by the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

DLR-DAAD Fellowships offer outstanding scientists and researchers the opportunity to conduct special research at the institutes of the DLR in Germany.

Eligibility

Applicants must not be of German nationality, and must be able to prove their outstanding study or research achievements in the field of research corresponding to the fellowship offer. All applicants must have excellent knowledge of the English language.

Additional eligibility requirements vary for the type of Fellowship (Type A, Type B, Type C) which are all based on the qualifications of the applicants and the duration of time for the type of fellowship.

Benefits

Type A fellowships are aimed at Doctoral students. They will receive funding for the duration of 36 months and a monthly installment of 1,760 Euros, including covered health insurance, family allowances and a flat-rate travel allowance.

Type B fellowships are aimed at Postdoctoral students. They will receive funding for the duration of 6 up to 24 months and a monthly installment of 2,400 Euros.

Type C fellowships are aimed at Senior Scientists. They will receive funding for the duration of 1 to 3 months with a monthly installment of 2,760 Euros.
