Description

The 24th Curtas Vila do Conde – International Film Festival, taking place from 9 to 17 of July 2016, announces the call for entries for new short films produced in 2015 or 2016, within the duration limit of 60 minutes, in film (35mm or 16 mm) or digital (DCP or video files).
You can submit your new films in the following competitions:

  • International (fiction, documentary and animation);
  • Portuguese (Portuguese films of fiction, documentary and animation);
  • Experimental (films that defy narrative and technical conventions);
  • Music Videos (music videos for Portuguese bands or artists, or directed by Portuguese authors));
  • Curtinhas (films for kids until 30 minutes);
  • Take One (school films, until 30 minutes, by Portuguese film students, national or in film schools abroad).

Eligibility

Animations, documentaries, fiction films, experimental films and music videos, in film (16mm and 35mm), or digital (DCP or video files), produced in 2015 or 2016, no longer than 60 minutes (unless noted exceptions), preferably with subtitles in Portuguese or English, are admitted to the various competitions

International, Experimental and Curtinhas Competition
Submission deadline: 8 April 2016.
Submission Fees:

  • completed and paid entries till 15th January 2016 – 7,00 euros;
  • completed and paid entries from 16th January till 15th March 2016 – 9,00 euros;
  • completed and paid entries from 16th of March till 8th April 2016 – 12,00 euros;

Portuguese and Music Videos Competition
Submission deadline: 23 May 2016.
Submission Fees:

  • completed and paid entries till 15th January 2016 – 7,00 euros;
  • completed and paid entries from 16th January till 15th March 2016 – 9,00 euros;
  • completed and paid entries from 16th of March till 23rd May 2016 – 12,00 euros;

How to apply?

Complete the online entry form. Before submitting a film prepare the following elements:
  • details and film data;
  • a photo/still of the film (.jpg or .png, 72dpi, till 200Kb maximum size);
  • link or file of the preview video file.
