DESCRIPTION

The AfterShoot Create Together Fund 2024 is an initiative aimed at empowering photographers and visual artists by providing financial support and mentorship to help bring their creative projects to life. This fund is particularly focused on supporting individuals from underrepresented communities, encouraging diverse voices in the visual arts.

The fund seeks to back innovative and impactful projects that explore new perspectives and storytelling techniques. In addition to the financial grant, recipients will benefit from mentorship by industry professionals, helping to refine their skills and enhance their creative vision. The selected works will be featured on AfterShoot’s platforms, offering global exposure to emerging talents.

The program is conducted online, allowing participants from all over the world to apply and participate in the mentorship sessions and project showcases.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Nationality: Open to photographers and visual artists worldwide
  • Focus: Special consideration for applicants from underrepresented communities
  • Experience: Open to artists at any stage of their career
  • Requirements: A project proposal that demonstrates creativity, impact, and a unique perspective; ability to participate in online mentorship sessions

BENEFITS

$1,000,000 in total funding is allocated to community leaders, enabling them to organize impactful events, workshops, and initiatives that nurture the photographic community.

Types of Expenses covered, including but not limited to:

  • Venue rental fees & equipment purchases or rentals
  • Hiring models, props, makeup, costumes, & materials for shoots
  • Collaborating with allies who assist with event production
  • Event promotion & platform fees (Meetup, Eventbrite, etc.)
  • Ordering food and extra Aftershoot merchandise for the event

HOW TO APPLY?

  • Submission: Applications must be submitted through the online application portal on the AfterShoot website. The application link can be found here.
  • Documents: Required documents include a project proposal, a portfolio of past work, and a personal statement.
  • Deadline: All applications must be submitted by 11:59 PM PST on September 15, 2024.
