Green Deal-NET: Short-Term Research Fellowships 2023-24

Deadline: 14 April 2023
Open to: international applicants

Description

Unique opportunity for early career scholars! PhD students and Postdoctoral researchers specializing in climate and sustainability policy and governance studies can apply for a grant for a short-term research visit at some of Europe’s top universities in the field.

The short-term research fellowship aims to support early-career researchers in developing their research skills and strengthening their academic networks. It specifically targets researchers working on topics related to the European Green Deal and its governance challenges. By conducting the fellowship, researchers will become part of an expanding network of researchers and academics working in the field
and contribute to the exchange of knowledge and the cross-fertilisation of ideas. Each fellow will have the opportunity to spend up to four weeks working on their research project at a partner university or research institute (see details below) and connect with other scholars and research communities within their field, perform data gathering, and/or get experience with a particular research method.

The fellowship is part of “The European Green Deal: Governing the EU’s Transition towards Climate Neutrality and Sustainability” (GreenDeal-NET), a Jean Monnet Network under the EU’s Erasmus+ programme. GreenDeal-NET provides a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration on teaching, research, and debate in the field of European climate and sustainability governance. Its overarching objective is to advance academic research and teaching on the EU’s transition towards climate neutrality. Additionally, it aims at engaging scholars, policymakers, and the broader public on these issues. Researchers selected for the fellowship are expected to meaningfully contribute to the network with their research outputs.
This call is the first of three rounds of calls for GreenDeal-NET short-term research fellows. Between three and five researchers will be funded. The next calls will be launched in 2024 and 2025.
