21st Luis Valtueña Humanitarian Photography Award

Médicos del Mundo has opened the call for its 21st Luis Valtueña Humanitarian Photography Award competition, inviting amateur and professional photographers from around the world to participate.

The Award has been initiated to denounce the situation of millions of people in the World and bring attention to human rights violation, social exclusion, armed conflicts, natural disasters, and immigration.

Eligibility

Each participant is allowed to submit a maximum of ten photographs, which can be distinct or part of a series. Only photos were taken between January 2016 and October 2017, which have not been previously entered, will be accepted.

The awards ceremony will be held at a public event during January or February 2018 at a time and place to be determined.

Award

The winner will receive a project grant of EUR 6,000 to develop a photography project composed of at least 50 photos and a 30-minute video shoot related to the work of Médicos del Mundo, whether in Spain or in other countries.

Along with the winning entries, the organizers will select other photos from all those submitted to form part of a traveling exhibition.

How to Apply?

  • Photographs must be sent in *JPEG format via WeTransfer;
  • The digital images must not bear any mark identifying the entrant;
  • The images will be sent by E-mail with the subject line: XXI PREMIO LUIS VALTUEÑA + ENTRANT’S NAME AND SURNAME along with the photographs, entrants must ALWAYS submit a completed entry form downloadable.
