Summer School – “Regional Cooperation”

Description

TU Dortmund University and Bielefeld University, in cooperation with the OSCE Academy in Bishkek, will conduct a Summer School on “Regional Cooperation – Approaches from Central Asia and Europe” from September 21 to September 23, 2017 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

The Summer School is designed for the younger generation of scholars and funded by Volkswagen Foundation. The purpose of the Summer School is to discuss options, limits and potential pitfalls of integration processes in Europe and Central Asia. In an open academic atmosphere with lecturers from Central Asia and Europe and different disciplinary backgrounds, junior researchers from all Central Asian countries will discuss different pathways of regional cooperation. The Summer School aims at avoiding one-size-fits-all approaches. Instead, it in- tends to increase mutual understanding of various cultural and disciplinary backgrounds.

Eligibility

Interested younger generation scholars (at least a B.A. degree, M.A. degree preferable) from all Central Asian countries are invited to apply.

Costs

TU Dortmund University and Bielefeld University with the kind support of Volkswagen Foundation are able to grant 10 scholarships supporting travel and accommodation.
