Description

The conference will be held from 2-7 October 2016 in the Croatian Parliament and the City Assembly of Zagreb and aims to bring together 98 young participants from 20 countries. The conference is organised by the non-governmental organisation – Croatian Educational and Development Network for the Evolution of Communication.

At the conference the participants will take up roles of the Members of the European Parliament, national ministers, lobbyists and journalists and will participate in a simulation of the legislative process in the EU on the two draft legislative proposals in the area of migration and environment. Besides the simulation, MEUZ 2016 will consist of a few round tables with decision makers from national and European institutions, a workshop on public speaking and negotiations with a representative of the European External Action Service (EEAS), and a “Partners’ Fair” on youth employment policies in partner organizations’ respective countries. The guests and other planned activities will be announced prior to the conference.

Eligibility

Residents of Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and United Kingdom.

Costs

In order to participate at the conference, the potential participants will confirm their attendance with the payment of the deposit of EUR 30 which will be returned to the participants when they arrive to the conference.

Depending on the distance, the travel costs will be covered in the amount of:

  • EUR 80: Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia Herzegovina and Croatia (distance more than 100 km from the capital of Croatia);
  • EUR 170: Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, United Kingdom, Macedonia and Spain.

The participants will be provided with:

  • Accommodation in hostel for 6 days;
  • Two meals (breakfast and lunch) for 5 days;
  • Conference materials;
  • Coffee breaks;
  • All workshops and structured dialogues;
  • Medical insurance for all six days starting with the registration on the first day.
