STERN Grant Scholarship for Young Photojournalists

Deadline: 30 April 2016
Open to: young photographers under 35 years of age
Grant: EUR 10,000

With its striking and often hard-hitting imagery the German weekly STERN magazine has been setting international standards in magazine photojournalism for decades. Similarly the LUMIX Festival for Young Photojournalism is regarded as one of the world’s most renowned in the industry. So it’s only fitting that the two institutions have now decided to cooperate in helping to promote and support the work of up-and-coming photojournalists.

The renowned German weekly STERN magazine and the LUMIX Festival for young photojournalism continue to expand their cooperation. Their latest joint venture, the STERN Grant scholarship award, invites applications from promising young photojournalists.

With this award the sponsors aim to give talented young photographers the opportunity to work on a long-term photojournalism project they are passionate about. The winner will have the chance to work on their story in tandem with an experienced STERN reporter and develop it into a reportage feature which will in turn be published by a title from the STERN group of magazines.
