Deadline: 16 May 2016
Open to: investigative journalists
Grant: average USD 5,000

Description

The Fund for Investigative Journalism (FIJ) encourages applications for stories that break new ground and expose wrongdoing – such as corruption, malfeasance, or misuse of power – in the public and private sectors. The Fund accepts applications for projects on domestic and international issues. The Fund for Investigative Journalism’s Board of Directors meets three times each year to consider grant applications for investigative projects.

The Fund encourages proposals written for ethnic media and submitted by journalists of color. Recent grants include investigations on abusive labor brokers in Thailand, an American abroad who refused to be an FBI informant and the burning of trees as a renewable energy source in Canada.
