Description

European Forum Alpach 2016 will be held under the main topic “New Enlightenment” from 17 August till 2 September in Alpbach, Tirol, Austria. It will allow explorers from the fields of science, business, politics, arts and civil society to find inspiration through dialogue.

The Forum will start with the Seminar week, offering 16 topics for morning and afternoon seminars and will continue with symposiums covering health, technology, politics, economy, architecture and other fields.

Young participants have become an integral part of the European Forum Alpbach. Each year, the Forum welcomes more than 700 students and graduates whose attendance is enabled by the extensive scholarship programme. Aside from their critical spirit and contributions to the discussions, they also organise an entertaining and challenging social programme and are involved in the bodies and advisory boards of the Forum via the FAN Forum Alpbach Network.

Eligibility

The grant to participate in the Seminar Week and the Alpbach Symposia is available to students and recent graduates up to 30 years of age. They welcome applications from all countries and academic disciplines and encourage artists and non-graduates to apply.

Costs

There are two ways of applying for a scholarship to participate in the European Forum Alpbach. You can apply directly to the Forum or to the Forum Alpbach Network.

The Forum grants scholarships via the European Forum Alpbach Foundation and through partner organizations. The Network grants regional scholarships through Clubs and Initiative groups.

How to apply?

To apply for a scholarship via the European Forum Alpbach Foundation or via one of the partner organisations, please submit the following documents:

  • Application Form for Scholarships;
  • Motivational statement (1 page);
  • Curriculum Vitae;
  • Certificates and Transcripts;
  • German or English Proficiency (non-native speakers only).
