Description
European Cultural Foundation (ECF) is an independent foundation based in the Netherlands that has been operating across Europe for nearly 60 years. It initiates and supports cultural exchange and creative expression across wider Europe. ECF awards STEP Beyond Travel Grant which funds emerging artists and cultural workers to explore and to exchange views, skills and inspiration. STEP Beyond Travel Grants fund up-and-coming artists and cultural workers – giving priority to individuals up to 35 years and/or in the first 10 years of their career – to travel between EU and countries bordering the EU.
Since 2003, STEP – which stands for ‘Supporting Travel for European Partnerships’ – Beyond Travel Grants have supported the movement of hundreds of people across European borders. By applying for the STEP Beyond Travel Grant, applicants are automatically joining ECF Labs: the online community of individuals in the field of arts and culture from Europe and beyond.
Eligibility
Artists or culturals worker of any contemporary artistic or cultural discipline (individual or representing a cultural or artistic independent organisation) are eligible to apply for the grant. ECF prioritises support for up-and-coming artists and cultural professionals who have not yet had many opportunities to travel and are not yet established. Therefore individuals aged between 18 and 35 and/or those in the first ten years of their professional career in arts and culture are more likely to be prioritized. Applicants should be based in Europe or in its neighbourhood. See the list of relevant countries in HERE.

The grant amounts range from EUR 250 – EUR 700, depending on travel.
