Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology Students’ Club in Zagreb issues a Call For Papers  and Participation in the upcoming international conference which will take place at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb from 13 to 16 October 2015 under the title Borders and MarginsRe/cognizing and re/presenting contemporary social issues and practices in everyday life.

The conference is oriented towards addressing and re-examining, in the broadest sense, the concepts of borders and margins, in contemporary society and everyday life, with emphasis on the spheres of social and cultural practices and human rights. The main approach to these concepts is that of temporal, spatial and social domains and spaces/places, which are socially and historically constructed. The research of such topics encompasses various theoretical, methodological and ethical issues and innovations. With the main focus on borders and margins, interested participants can choose to discuss other topics which address borders and margins. Suggested topics may include (but are not limited to): Human Rights, Politics, Economy, Migrations, Azylees, Identity, Social Activism, Media, Religion, Gender Issues, Education, Tourism. Aside from paper presentation, attendees can participate by organizing and/or  partaking in workshops. The official languages are Croatian and English.

The conference is open to all students, young experts and researchers who are interested in the areas of ethnology/anthropology and other social sciences and humanities studies.

Costs

Participation at the conference is free of charge. Accommodation for foreign presenters will be covered by the organizers.
