International Workshop for Young Journalists

Description

Young Journalists for Tomorrow’s Europe (YJTE) is a five-day workshop that will provide media training to aspiring young journalists from the Visegrad Four countries (Poland, Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, and Hungary), utilizing Embassy Bratislava’s network of senior alumni active in the field, as well as US experts. Its goal is to provide young (between 18-24 years of age) alumni and non-alumni who are aspiring journalists training on topics such as media ethics, investigative journalism, the role of free media in democratic societies, and journalism in the digital age. Participants will attend a series of practical workshops with the assistance of experienced experts from the international journalism community and with the purpose of improving their writing and communication skills. Knowledge acquired during the conference will be utilized to produce a final written product presented on the last day of the conference.

Eligibility

Students aged between 18-24 years coming from Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Poland.

Costs

Successful applicants will have their travel and accommodation costs covered, as well as breakfasts and working lunches will be covered for the selected participants throughout the whole conference.
