Deadline: 15 April 2015
Open to: all students and PhD students interested in environmental sciences or sustainable development
Venue: Sächsische Schweiz (about 90 km East of Dresden)
EURENSSA is an one-week open-air meeting for students from all over Europe, studying programmes related to environment & sustainability. The idea of EURENSSA is to learn more about the environment and its related subjects during field trips and workshops, to gain new knowledge during lectures held by experts and to share your experiences. It is a possibility to apply your unique knowledge in a different environment and to compare the aspects of environmental sciences in various countries and research fields. Another important aspect of EURENSSA is to make new international friends with similar interests, and have a lot of fun, of course. EURENSSA 2015 will take place 1. – 8. August in Germany in Saxon Switzerland region.
This year’s topic is The blind Men and the Elephant-Interdisciplinary Environmental Research and the programme is divided into three sessions:
- Environmental Ethics;
- Ecology vs. Economy;
- Environmental Engineering, Analytics and Modelling. They are looking for highly motivated students with all different kind of backgrounds (e.g. ecology, management, engineering, earth/environ. sciences, sustainable development,…) to explore environmental issues in an interdisciplinary context.
All students and PhD students studying or doing research in environmental sciences or sustainable development. Students from other fields are welcome too, as long as they show strong interest in environmental/sustainability questions or are actively involved in environmental protection.
The participation fee is 100 Euros. This includes:
- accommodation fee (camp site at Permahof, bring your own tent and camping gear!);
- three meals per day;
- transport during the event.
Please take note that you will have to pay for transport to and from the conference venue by yourself. EURENSSA only pays for transport during the conference programme. Furthermore, the conference is organised by students and is entirely based on donations. Thus EURENSSA is not able to grant any funding for participants. Please be aware of this when you want to apply.
