Common Ground Film Criticism Workshop during Dokufest in Prizren, Kosovo

Common Ground is part of a larger initiative entitled “The Visegrad Bridge” created by DokuFest in partnership with Institute of Documentary Film Czech Republic, Slovak Film Institute and Bialystok Cultural Centre from Poland. The project is an interactive combination of intensive workshops, lectures and case studies aimed at future journalists, young film critics, festival and film fund representatives, producers and film directors.

Common Ground training program on film criticism will take place from August 18 to 22, 2014 in Prizren, Kosovo.  The 10 selected participants will be invited to follow the screenings of films from the DokuFest program and to work with experienced and acclaimed tutors. The program is meant to introduce young writers to the practice of film criticism and to provide them with the critical tools that will help them develop their own style, while offering immersion in the live atmosphere of DokuFest festival.


The workshop is open to writers, critics, bloggers, journalists and filmmakers with an interest in film criticism. Only participants coming from the Balkans and the Visegrad countries ( Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland) are eligible.

The training will be conducted in English, so the participants must have good command of English language.


Dokufest will cover travel costs to Prizren and accommodation. In addition participants will  receive a badge that will allow them to enter all the DokuFest screenings and concerts for free.
