Description

The Global Junior Challenge is an international competition rewarding the most innovative projects for the Education of 21st Century and the Social Inclusion. The main aim of the Challenge is to encourage young generations and their teachers to use of the new technologies, exchange experiences and emulate successful initiatives.

The Global Junior Challenge is a unique opportunity for teachers and students to reflect on the significance of digital literacy, whilst exposing them with to the vast range of high quality solutions proposed by other youth from around the world.

The Global Junior Challenge rewards projects in all fields of youth education, not only those addressed at schools. There is no geographical or size limitation as the Challenge welcomes everyone: from websites created by middle school students to global projects employing cutting edge technology for online training.

The projects eligible to enter the competition are those that were still in operation as of December 31, 2013 and addressed to youth up to 29 years of age and which use new ICT technology for education and training. There are two main areas for the projects:

  1. Education for the 21st century;
  2. Social Inclusion Area.

Eligibility

The competition is open to everyone: associations, public and private institutions, cooperatives, schools, universities, companies and individuals of any age from all around the world.

Prize

  1. The main Global Junior Challenge Award – Winners receive a bronze medal with the Etruscan wolf. The prestigious awards will be presented in the Giulius Ceaser Hall of the Campidoglio, Rome’s City Hall;
  2. Six medals – the Special President of the Republic Prize that is reserved for the most innovative projects presented by Italian schools;
  3. Small Fund Award – The award is for the most innovative projects that come from developing countries.
