Description
YATA Norway has the great pleasure of inviting international participants to the Nordic Security Conference 2014 (NorSec), a conference focusing on defence and security issues in Northern Europe and in Europe at large.
The conference will take place on the 24th-27th April at the Norwegian Military Academy in Oslo, Norway. NorSec has previously been hosted with great success in 2008 and 2013, with lecturers and participants coming from all over Europe to create a vibrant forum for discussion. A review of last year’s conference can be read HERE.
NorSec 2014 will focus on the diversity of security perspectives within NATO and what challenges this poses to the cohesiveness of the alliance. Will geopolitics play a greater role in European security in the future? How does the melting of the arctic affect Northern Europe and Europe at large? What strategic challenges does Swedish neutrality pose to the Baltic region and Northern Europe, and how will Europe adapt to US rebalance to Asia? How will NATO adapt to the security needs of its member countries, while building capability to together face the challenges of the future?
The participants will be given the unique opportunity to discuss and immerse themselves in the conference’s topic through lectures, panel debates and workshops.
