Description
The Northern Dimension Partnership in Public Health and Social Well-being (NDPHS) is a cooperative effort of ten governments (Estonia, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Russia and Sweden), the European Commission and eight international organisations. The Partnership’s mission is to promote sustainable development of the Northern Dimension area by improving peoples’ health and social well-being. It aims to contribute to this process by intensifying cooperation and enhancing coordination between international activities within the Northern Dimension area.
The NDPHS is supported by the NDPHS Secretariat, which is located in Stockholm, Sweden. The main function of the Secretariat is to provide administrative, analytical and other support to the CSR. The NDPHS Secretariat announces an internship programme position starting on 16 September 2013 until 20 December 2013 in Stockholm.
The intern shall mainly assist in the daily work of the staff member under whose responsibility they are placed. General duties will involve:
- assistance in organization of meetings;
- maintenance of the NDPHS website, database and project pipeline;
- drafting meeting minutes;
- assisting in producing meeting documentation ahead of meetings;
- assisting in activities pertaining to project facilitation and implementation.
Eligibility
- Citizens of one of the NDPHS Partner Countries – Estonia, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Russia and Sweden;
- University degree in a field related to the NDPHS activities;
- Excellent knowledge of English
- A sense of organisation, initiative and responsibility and creativity;
- The ability to work in an international environment;
- Computer literacy – very good user skills in Internet and word processing software and hardware.
Remuneration
Internship stipend in the amount of 8,000 SEK (930 EUR) per month can be provided, subject to the conditions specified in the Internship Handbook (read HERE), for the duration of the intern’s stay at the NDPHS Secretariat.

Complete applications must arrive at the NDPHS Secretariat no later than 12 August 2013. Incomplete applications and applications received after the deadline will be automatically rejected. The NDPHS Secretariat will inform all applicants by 14 August 2013 if they have been short-listed for telephone interviews. Telephone interviews will be held during 14-16 August 2013 and the successful candidate announced no later than 16 August 2013.
