Description
mLab ECA is organizing Regional Mobile Application Contest (RMA) for programmers and non-programmers to generate ideas craft prototypes and develop applications/solutions supporting innovation, business and rural developments through mobile technologies. It also aims to create environment where innovative startups (teams) in mobile application filed are nurtured and supported to become a viable business.
Eligibility
The contest is open for developers in the following country-members of ECA region: Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia.
Individuals and teams (maximum 5 members) from participating countries, who have innovative mobile application ideas, which could be developed into real business, are eligible to participate in the contest. All the applicants have to propose ideas that should be prototyped and coded for the next round of the contest, i.e. while applying applicants (if non programmer) need to consider finding team members, who would be able to code the idea for the next round. The contest is open to individuals and teams only. Therefore no legally registered companies can participate.
Contest phases
- Idea Generation and submission: April 5, 2013 – April 22, 2013
- Selection of finalists and mobile app idea development: April 26, 2013 – June 12, 2013. The jury in each participating country will select the finalist to develop the app & participate in pitching event held in Yerevan, Armenia.
- Start-up workshop and Pitching event: June 12-14, 2013. The finalists will develop the final app & participate in the pitching event. Winner will be announced.
How to apply
After generating the idea, submit it for your local jury consideration by filling in the online application form or downloading the form and sending it along with attachments to contest@mlabeca.com. Deadline for idea submission is 22 April 2013. Make sure to provide the CVs of all your team members, if applying with a team.
