Description
Gaza Reporting International Network is a unique initiative launched by Palestinian media experts. Their aim is to broadcast live from Gaza city, in English, to the outside world. This will be through a variety of Media channels including Livestream TV, Radio and online news coverage. They will also be promoting the stunning scenery and daily life of Gaza through an online photo gallery that will depict a side of Gaza that is rarely seen.
Gaza Reporting International Network is now in a position to offer a limited number of internships to Internationals who might wish to participate in their groundbreaking initiative. This online NGO is the first of its kind to be launched in Gaza. It heralds a new era of Media and non profit online enterprises driven by the vision and enthusiasm of the Youth of Gaza. Gaza Reporting International Network is currently searching for applicants for three types of internship positions: Journalism trainer; Fundraising and Administrative Administrator; and Proposal and Reports officer.
Benefits: Gaza Reporting will provide accommodation and Arabic tutors during the internship period. They will also have interpreters and translators available throughout your stay in Gaza.
PHOTOGRAPHY, FILM-MAKING, EFFECTIVE JOURNALISM
This internship is offered to candidates with expertise in the fields of Photography, Film-making and Journalism. It is a unique opportunity to gain experience in one of the most politically pivotal areas of the Middle East.
You will be expected to assist in the training of amateur Palestinians in these fields. The cultural exchange of ideology and methodology will enhance their skills and better prepare them for participation in a much wider International arena. The goal is for Palestinians to carry their own message to the world in a way that is accessible to everyone. This can only be achieved through an International cooperation and partnership for Peace.
Eligibility
Applicants should be professionals in the aforementioned fields and should have at least 2 years experience in their chosen field. Relevant qualifications up to and including degree level are also required although experience in the field, if extensive, will be taken into consideration during the selection process. Internship will be for a maximum of 4 weeks. All applicants should be fluent in English. Knowledge of Arabic is not essential but would be an advantage.
FUNDRAISING AND ADMINISTRATIVE INTERNSHIP
This internship is offered to candidates with experience in Fundraising and Business Administration and Management. It is a unique opportunity to gain experience in one of the most politically pivotal areas of the Middle East. As an intern in this field your goal will be to secure additional funding to ensure the future of Gaza Reporting as a leading non profit online media channel. You will be responsible for all the fundraising activities associated with Gaza Reporting. You will head up the fundraising team and oversee the management. As a member of the management team you will be expected to contribute to long term strategy and to attend the Management team meetings. The goal will be to have in place, an agreed strategy for the next five years with clear objectives for each Managment team member and a way of assessing progress against forecast on a regular basis.

Internship will be for a minimum of 3 months. All applicants should be fluent in English. Knowledge of Arabic is not essential but would be an advantage.
PROPOSAL AND REPORTS OFFICER INTERNSHIP
This internship is offered to candidates with experience in Proposal formulation and Reporting on Strategy and Fundraising activities. You will be expected to assist in the training of amateur Palestinians in these fields. Your job will also be to seek additional funding opportunities in a cooperation with the Fundraiser and Administrative manager (FAM) to ensure the future of Gaza Reporting as a leading non profit online media channel. You will be responsible for all proposal, and reports activities, conducted on behalf of the company. As a member of the Management Team you will be expected to contribute to long-term strategy and to attend the Management Team meetings.

Applications must be submitted by 24 February 2013, and the start date will 1 April 2013. Once you are accepted, Gaza Reporting undertakes to facilitate your entrance into the Gaza strip.
