The Albanian Institute for International Studies is pleased to announce an internship position in the framework of Think Tank Young Professional Development Program of the Open Society Foundation. The Think Tank Young Professional Development Program intends to attract recent graduates of MA and PhD programs in the social sciences and humanities to selected think tanks in Central and Eastern Europe, South Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union, giving them an opportunity to gain first-hand policy research and advocacy experience at a renowned think tank in the region. This year AIIS was selected and will host a MA/PhD graduate, who will be offered an internship for 6 months.

The candidate will be considered for one of the following positions:

1.  Researcher to the European Program

Description of the work task:

  • assists the director of the AIIS European program to organize the survey study of AIIS related to support about European integration,
  • assist projects that aim at disseminating information and knowledge (as well as encouraging more active participation in integration process) about the European Union and the integration process of Albania to Albanian youth through several publications and small public events.

2. Researcher to the Governance Program

Description of the work task:

  • gather and interpret data and carry out desk research for local government performance and accessibility monitoring reports,
  • draft and carry interviews with stakeholders and independent experts,
  • assist in public presentation events.

Eligibility

  • Graduates of social sciences, (including but not limited to: European Studies, political science, international relations, nationalism studies, security studies, public administration, environmental science, area studies, etc)
  • Proficiency in Albanian and English;
  • General computer skills (Office programs)
  • Willingness to work in team

Preference will be given to recipients of fellowships Open Society Scholarships programs and graduates of the Central European University (CEU).

Remuneration

Interns will receive remuneration.

Upon successful completion of the internship and depending on the overall performance of the candidate AIIS will consider offering a permanent position inside the organization.
