Study Visit at European Peoples Party Group, Brussels

Description

The EPP Group in the Committee of the Regions will once again invite Masters Students in European Studies, Political Science and International Relations to participate in the EPP Group meeting and the CoR Plenary Session on 28-30 November 2012. At this meeting representatives of local and regional government will meet to adopt their positions on EU legislation. The study visit will be an opportunity for students to meet with high-level EU representatives for key debates on topical European issues.
In addition to the EPP Group’s preparatory meeting and in preparation for the 2013 European Year for Citizenship, specific workshops will be organised on the citizens’ initiative and e-citizenship.
Throughout the visit the students will have access to quality information about the European integration process and above all about the activities and objectives of the CoR.

Terms and conditions

1. This competition is open to nationals of the Member States of the EU plus Croatia.
2. Entrants must be enrolled onto a Masters Programme in European Studies, Political Science or International Relations at the time of the visit i.e. 28-30 November 2012.
3. Applicants who have already taken part in an EPP Study Visit will not be eligible.
4. The study visit will be conducted in English therefore a good, working knowledge of the language is essential.
5. The EPP/CoR does not accept any responsibility for late or lost entries due to the internet/post.
6. The EPP Group secretariat’s decision is final in every situation and no correspondence will be entered into.
7. Applicants will be deemed to have understood the above rules and accepted them and agree to be bound to them when registering for the study trip.
8. This project is administered by the EPP/CoR and it reserves the right to cancel this study visit at any stage.
9. Successful participants must attend the duration of the study visit.
10. Participants will be required to submit a 500 word paper entitled “A vision of EU citizenship in 2020: What role for regions and cities” following their successful participation in the study visit .

The closing date is Friday 26 October 2012 and the successful candidates will be chosen on the basis of their application form. Please note that preference will be given to those who have not had direct experience with the EU and every effort will be made to achieve a cross-section of nationalities and interests.

  1. By all means start applying now. I strated in middle school. Most high schools have an office for financial aid counseling. They have books full of scholarship offers for which you can apply. Go there on your lunch breaks, and apply for anything you can find.
