Description
Established by South East European University (SEEU) and Mladiinfo Grant Info Center and tailored according to world elite summer programs, Preparing Global Leaders Institute will take place in one of the biggest and most sophisticated campuses in the region- SEEU, Tetovo, from August 13-26, 2012.
Preparing Global Leaders Institute (PGLI) is created to train new generations for effective and ethical leadership, prepared to act as global leaders in addressing world’s problems.
The Institute emphasizes rigorous academic preparation and interactive learning. This experience helps participants to stimulate intellectual curiosity and build individual self-confidence and independence, while at the same time developing analytical and practical leadership and decision-making skills.
Participants learn through intensive engagement in classes, debates, simulations – all involving future national and international leaders from different countries, cultures, religions and races.
The institute is open for young enthusiasts who wish to extend their theoretical knowledge and acquire leadership skills by listening to lectures from eminent professors, diplomats, politicians, directors of regional and international institutes, CEO’s etc.
Preparing Global Leaders Institute (PGLI) Lecture Topics:

Simulation Exercises:
- Parliamentary Simulation: Institute delegates will be responsible in drafting legislation for a newly formed country. Institute delegates will be divided into opposing teams of 10 and will write legislation on selected issues. The opposing teams will debate over the bills and the institute delegates will vote to on the debated legislation.
- Speechmaking Simulation: Institute delegates will be given an issue prompt to write and present a speech that the leader of the country must deliver on the world stage.
At the end of the PGLI, all participants who have successfully completed the program will receive certificates.
The program also includes a variety of special events, trips to cities, museums, and sites, visits to institutions, as well as all sorts of interactive activities offered within SEEU Campus facilities: Movie Theatre; Coffee Bar and Night Club; Sports fields for volleyball, basketball, tennis, chess, table tennis and football.
Costs
The full cost of the program is 1000 EUR covering tuition fee, transportation from Skopje airport/bus station to SEEU, accommodation in the SEEU University dormitories, meals, special events, sport facilities, and vocational trips. Participants are responsible for travel arrangements and associated VISA costs (if needed) to Macedonia.

Eligibility
While the program is available for future leaders, the targets are, high school graduates, undergraduate and graduate students (young professionals) who show leadership potential. These are the ones who will be tomorrow’s leaders, both within their own countries and internationally.
Application
A completed application form is necessary to register for the Preparing Global Leaders Institute. A confirmation letter to all applicants will be sent by e-mail upon acceptance. Information and consent forms will be mailed in May and June. The PGLI grants refunds only when a cancellation is received by July 15.

Please note that admission to the institute is made on a rolling basis, therefore, earlier applications will receive priority consideration.

- Category A: applicants who hold a citizenship of a country that needs VISA to enter Macedonia
- Category B: applicants who hold a citizenship of a country that does not need VISA to enter Macedonia
IMPORTANT VISA INFORMATION (updated):
According to the partnership agreement recently signed by Macedonia and some Former Soviet Union countries:
- Citizens of Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Ukraine DO NOT need VISA to get in Macedonia; therefore the deadline for application for students of these countries is extended to June 15.
- Citizens of Georgia and Belarus can enter Macedonia with …vouchers issued by the Macedonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and then sent to their home addresses in the respective countries; therefore the deadline for application for students of these countries is extended to June 1.
- The most convenient representative body for issuing Macedonian VISAs for Middle East and African Countries (except from Macedonian Embassies in Egypt and Qatar) is the Macedonian General Consulate in Istanbul. They can receive the VISA on their way to Macedonia in August and take a cheap Pegasus return flight Skopje- Istanbul ( approx. 60 EUR).
- All participants are allowed to enter Macedonia with a valid Schengen VISA- type C (multiple entry) or with regulated extended student/work stay in the European Union.
