Cultural Manager for the International Elias Canetti Society

The International Elias Canetti Society was founded in 1992 in Ruse, the birthplace of Elias Canetti. The central goals of the Society include a dedication to researching Canetti’s work, promoting the European integration process and participating in rebuilding civil societal structures in post-communist Bulgaria. Through their various methods, the Society’s work encompasses essentially four fields: Cultural mediation, cultural dialog, civic education, and academics.

The tasks include:

  • Management of the culture and art department
  • Management of international cultural projects
  • Design and development of new international projects and cooperations
  • Networking, close collaboration with Goethe-Institut and HALMA – the European Network of Literary Centres
  • Representation of our society on local and international level

International Elias Canetti Society offers you:

Candidates meeting following criteria are welcome to apply:

  • Post-graduates
  • Experienced in international project work
  • Experienced in handling public and private subsidies
  • Presenting structured, target-oriented, and flexible way of working
  • Willing to travel
  • Interested in the German and Bulgarian culture scene, the Balkans, the Danube region, and Eastern Europe
  • Having work experience abroad
  • Possessing excellent knowledge of German or Bulgarian and good knowledge of the other language plus good knowledge of English
  • Fluent in handling common office software
