University of Edinburgh Coca-Cola Scholarships

Deadline: 2 April 2012
Open to: Undergraduate applicants from selected countries
Scholarship: Full tuition fees and an annual maintenance allowance of £5,000

Description

The University of Edinburgh and Coca-Cola offer a number of scholarships for undergraduate study in any subject offered by the University.

Scholarship

This competitive scholarship covers the full tuition fees and an annual maintenance allowance of £5,000. It is tenable for the duration of the programme of study.

Applicants should have applied through the University and Colleges Admission Service (UCAS) and been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh by the scholarship closing date of 2 April 2012.

The scholarship is not available to students already on programme.

The scholarship may be terminated at any time when an unsatisfactory progress report is received from the School or if the scholarship holder ceases to be registered as a full-time student at the University of Edinburgh.

Eligibility

The scholarship is open to applicants whose personal circumstances would make accepting an offer from the University of Edinburgh difficult.

They are awarded to citizens from the following countries who are accepted for admission on a full-time basis for an undergraduate programme of study:

  • Bosnia
  • Bulgaria
  • Croatia
  • Macedonia
  • Montenegro
  • Poland
  • Romania
  • Russia
  • Serbia
  • Slovenia
  • Ukraine

Application

Eligible applicants should complete an online scholarship application.

All applications must be submitted no later than 2 April 2012.

Please note that you will not be able to access the online application form unless you have applied for admission to the University of Edinburgh and have full EASE authentication.

A University of Edinburgh Selection Committee will meet in May 2012 to select the scholarship holders.

The scholarship winners will be announced in late May 2012.

  1. Hello,

I want to thank you for this great opportunity but I have one question – how to apply for admission to the University of Edinburgh in order to have full EASE authentication.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you again 🙂

    1. Dear Diana,

On the Official Website you can find the information you need. Seeing as I have no idea what country you come from, or if you wish to apply for undergraduate level or post-graduate, I would advise you search for the information yourself. Here is the link for the section on International students http://www.ed.ac.uk/studying/international
Hope you'll find what you're looking for.

      Kind regards

    2. Diana, what they mean is that after you have applied with UCAS, you'll be automatically given an EASE account at the university website. There, you'll be able to check whether you got the offer or not. Hope that helps! Good luck!

  2. i've a question related to this scholarship, why don't you provide this chance for african countries such as ethiopia or facilitate scholar together with universities.thanks

    1. Dear mekdes,

Please note that Mladiinfo does not give scholarships or any financial support, but only informs about different opportunities. Click on the direct link to the official page above to apply for the program.

  3. Dear Mr./Mrs.,

If I understood good, students that are already involved in the first year of study at another university are not eligible for the scholarship. Is that true, or I hopefully misinterpretated it?

    Kind regards,
    Stevan

    1. Dear Stevan,

What they mean by "The scholarship is not available to students already on programme", they are referring to the programme of the University of Edinburgh, which means if you are already enrolled there, and per example you are in the second year of your studies there, you are not eligible for the scholarship. Only the new students that will get accepted to the University for the next academic year can apply for the scholarship.

      Kind regards

  4. this is such a shame … I was looking at the scholarship last year and even now, I still don't get how they come up with the list of countries. It hasn't changed though, but if Poland comes up in the list, why not Slovakia or Czech Republic .. just wondering.
I know a girl from Montenegro myself, she got a scholarship and it's a huge advantage! wish i could have applied!

  5. Dear Elena,

I am from Bosnia and i would like to study in the UK, but it is so expensive without a scholarship. Could you be so kind to answer my questions.First of all, what are the requirements for getting a scholarship and what is the criteria? Secondly, is it enough to have perfect grades and a score of 6.5 or higher on the IELTS to be offered a place on the universities throughout England? Finally, to study in the USA do i need to do the SAT test?

    1. Dear Zuza,

I cannot possibly know all of the criteria for admissions in the Universities in the UK, because there are so many of them, and all of them have different requirements. But what I can tell you is that most of them require for you to be admitted to the University first, and then apply for a scholarship. (Like it is the case with the above scholarship) I know that some Universities require you to demonstrate that you are financially incapable of supporting yourself during the course of the study. You can browse our website for opportunities in the UK (http://www.mladiinfo.com/?s=UK&x=0&y=0) and see which Universities offer scholarship for your region, and if the scholarship is enough to support you during your study there. Also you can visit the British embassy in your country (or just write or call them) and ask them if they have any scholarships available. Most of the scholarships go through the embassy of the British Council (if you have it in your country), and they are best suited to help you.
As for the study in USA, well, almost all of the Universities in the USA require you to have TOEFEL, if your native language is not English, and the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Some Universities have their own version of the SAT, like business schools have the GMAT, law schools have the LSAT, medical schools-the MCAT. The other test they commonly require is the ACT (it's another standardized test). So again my advise would be for you to inquire scholarship opportunities with the American embassy in Bosnia.

      Good luck.
