Description
The onVidi.com Student Film Contest (“The Contest”), administered by Vidi Entertainment, Inc. (“Vidi Entertainment”) is a skill-contest where student filmmakers (“Entrants”) will submit an original, 3-minute or less film, video, or digital production (“Video”) to be screened and judged by panels of trained film and media industry individuals, experts, or professionals. Chance is entirely absent from the Contest’s processes and procedures. Beginning in the Fall of 2011, Entrants’ submitted Videos and corresponding profile may be selected for public posting on the public onVidi.com website.
There are 5 categories: comedy, action, drama & romance, music video, or documentary
1.The Contest is open only to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are at least the age of majority in their state of residence at the time of entry and at least eighteen (18)
2. Entrants must be a full or part-time student in the calendar year 2011, and Contest finalists must allow Vidi Entertainment to verify 2011 enrollment in a university, college, film, or media arts school.
3. Entrants must be registered members of the Site in order to submit their Video to the Contest.
4. Each individual is allowed a maximum of 10 submissions, however only 1 prize can be won by each individual
Contest
Entrants’ Videos must be three (3) minutes or less in length and may be produced as a “film,” “video,” or “digital production.” The Videos must be in a format accepted by the onVidi.com Student Contest Site at the time of entry. There is no limit to the number of Videos each Entrant may submit, but each Entrant may win only one (1) cash prize.
Prizes
Videos receiving the highest overall score will be identified and stored for final judging. The top 20 Videos in each category will be selected for the final round of judging.
ONE (1) GRAND PRIZE WINNER: $50,000 awarded to Best Overall Submission.
FIVE (5) FIRST PLACE WINNERS IN EACH CATEGORY: $10,000 awarded to the Winner in Each of the 5 Submission Categories (Comedy, Action, Drama & Romance, Music Video, or Documentary).
Eligibility

The following individuals are not eligible to participate in the Contest: employees of Vidi Entertainment, 45 Degrees North, Inc., Twin Technologies, Inc., and any of their respective parent, subsidiary and affiliate companies and advertising and promotion agencies as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings and children and their respective spouses) and household members of each such employee, whether or not related. Any persons that are signatories to any guild or union agreements are also not eligible.
How to apply?
The Contest begins July 1, 2011 at 12:00 a.m. ET. In order to enter the Contest, Entrants must register on the Site (to register, please click here). Entrants must read and agree to these Official Rules and Terms of Use and then follow the links and instructions to upload their Video. Once their video is uploaded, Entrants will receive a confirmation email as well as a unique link to their onVidi.com profile, which can be accessed to track Video submissions as well as other relevant Contest information.
