European Photo Competition: Focus on Risk Prevention

Open to: photographers from EU, EEA and candidate countries  (amateurs and professional)
Award: 1st prize €3,000

The photo competition is organized by EU-OSHA to promote awareness on healthy workplaces and risk prevention at work. The Agency’s mission is “to make Europe’s workplaces safer, healthier and more productive“.

Everyone can apply, by submitting their own image of safety and health at work, with a special focus on risk prevention. The focus of the photographs could be on certain work-related topics such as:

  • changes at the workplace
  • dangerous substances
  • maintenance
  • risk assessment
  • back pain
  • noise
  • stress
  • harassment
  • violence
  • bullying
  • accident prevention

Eligibility

The competition is open to all citizens in the European Union plus the three EEA (Iceland, Lichtenstein and Norway) and the six candidate and potential candidate countries (Croatia, Turkey, Serbia, Montenegro, FYROM and Albania).

Technical requirements

* Photographs must be in digital format
* Only pg and tiff are accepted, with 300 dpi resolution, and a maximum file size of 10 MB
* Minor burning, dodging and/or color correction is acceptable

Awards

  • 1st Prize: €3,000
  • 2nd Prize: €2,000
  • 3rd Prize: €1,000
  • Youth Prize: €1,000
  • An additional youth prize will be awarded to the best entrant aged under-21.

The winners will be announced at the EU-OSHA Healthy Workplaces Campaign Closing Event to be held in Bilbao, on the 22nd and 23rd November 2011.
