Description: Who we are.
Rom pentru Rom is a nongovernmental organization based in Panciu, Romania. It was founded in December 2000 by IBO Italy with the following goals:
– improving Roma living conditions;
– positively influencing Romanian society, in order to lessen the prejudices towards Roma community;
– promoting the idea of voluntary work.
– promoting both formal and non-formal education.
– promoting and support professional training courses for job’s seekers in the educational field.

Program Duration:
Overall project from September to January 2012.
3 meetings of 7 days each, one in september, one in november and the other in january.

Program objectives and goals regarding the activities:
Based on the “social circus” method, the project aimed to provide formal and non-formal educators with the necessary knowledge to carry out similar projects by their own, thus being “agent of changes” in children’s education.
Easy to learn, “social circus” method is universal and quite accessible to everybody. Each person, in accordance with his own abilities, is able to realize his potentiality through the wide gamut of activities that the circus offers.
It needs just a very good trainer, able to prepare training participants to play a part in juggling, clowning, magic, balancing acts, working with costumers to personify different people and situations.
Such training will also provide an opportunity for formal and non-formal educators to share common experiences within their social context, thus enhancing their capacity of collaboration by facilitating exchange visits and partnership.

Board and lodging are covered by the Romanian National Agency, travel expense is covered for 70% of its total.
