The Vienna BioCenter is a campus of scientific excellence. Research at the VBC covers a range of topics in modern biological sciences, including gene regulation, cell division, neural circuits, and evolutionary genomics. The VBC PhD program supports its students in their scientific explorations, providing state-of-the-art equipment, expert scientific advisors, and extensive scientific and administrative support. The VBC PhD program is the place for young researchers to put their creativity, ideas, and enthusiasm to work, addressing fundamental questions about how life works.

Bachelors or masters in biological sciences field

• Two letters of recommendation
• A university degree that would formally qualify you to enter a PhD or equivalent program in the country where the degree was obtained.

Salary

Salaries in the Vienna Biocenter PhD program are amongst the best in Europe. The monthly gross salary of a PhD student in the VBC program is 2288 Euros per month gross and 1762 euros per month net. Within the salary health insurance, pension insurance, accident insurance and unemployment insurance are included.

  1. Can i apply if i am fourth year student ( i will graduate in 2012)? or Can i use this chance just for researching in yours university?

      this is a programme for holders of a relevant degree. As you don't hold it, you may not apply. I would advise you to wait until you graduate and then apply, if the research position is still open.
