Cultural Policy Research Award

Open to: hold an M.A. level degree in social sciences, art & humanities, or public policy research under 35 years
Award: an award worth 10.000 Euro

The Cultural Policy Research Award was launched in 2004 by the European Cultural Foundation (ECF) and the Riksbankens Jubileumsfond. Through this competition, the programme partners aim to encourage and enable cultural policy researchers to  undertake comparative and cross-cultural applied research that can inform policy making and benefit practitioners active in the field.

The Award is devoted to research projects which shed light on contemporary European cultural issues and challenges by analyzing them and offering policy solutions.

Four main (but not exclusive) issues the competition will focus on in 2011:
1. Developing intercultural and trans-national dimensions of cultural policies
2. European cultural policies in the context of globalization
3. Social dimensions of cultural policies
4. Values and ethics in cultural policy

Eligibility

Candidates must be educated to M.A. level in social sciences, art & humanities, or public policy research, and must be no older than 35 at the time of applying, and must be from a Council of Europe Member State.

Award

The 6 finalists which are selected amongst all the CPRA applicants will also be invited to attend the Young Cultural Policy Researchers Forum (YCPR Forum) which will take place on 11-12 October 2011 in Helsinki.

The winner of the CPR Award 2011 will receive an award worth 10.000 Euro, and will be announced at the opening of the  19th ENCATC Annual Conference “CultureForecast” in Helsinki.
